INTRODUCTION
The Department of Scientific Services in Sedibeng Water is operating from a central laboratory at Balkfontein near Bothaville in the Free State Province. This laboratory has grown from a small operational laboratory where a few routine analysis were performed by operational staff to an accredited laboratory staffed by professionally qualified personnel and equipped to analyse all chemical, hydrobiological and bacteriological determinants needed for research, process optimisation and quality control.
VISION
To ensure, through continuous monitoring, analysis, research and development and the provision of a sound and scientifically based support, timely corrective action for the reliable supply of safe drinking water in sufficient quantities to our various customers.
MISSION
Laboratory
To provide an accurate, reliable, professional and economically viable laboratory services to internal and external clients within agreed time frame, in terms of ISO/IEC 17025(2005) requirements and with respect to our clients and fellow employees.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SECTION
To provide an efficient, reliable and sustainable consultancy service associated with new business development initiatives, ensuring a high quality, scientifically based and cost-effective environmental risk management and legislative compliance capability to internal and external clients.
